Transition Support
Transition Support for iCollege Learners
iCollege offer all transitioning learners a 6-month period of careers support. We recognise that some learners find it challenging when they leave iCollege to attend larger colleges or adapt to the requirements of longer working required for apprenticeships or jobs with training.
Support meetings for transitioning learners are available in person at Independence, or at an agreed location, or using Microsoft Teams or phone.
Careers support available during the Summer Holiday on the following dates:
Wednesday 29th July, 12th August and 20th August ’26 (Results Day).
Careers support available in the Autumn Term
Careers support meetings are available by appointment every Friday afternoon from 3pm From September to October Half Term. Parents and carers are welcome.
Our qualified advisers will be able to offer support in the following areas:
- careers advice for those who are uncertain of what to do next
- college place confirmations
- enrolment queries
- bursary applications (to cover cost of travel to college, lunches, equipment)
- apprenticeship applications
- part time job applications
- interview support
Parents/Carers please feel free to get in contact, even if your young person is not ready to access careers support; it will be helpful to them if you have the information available to share.
