Context 

Pod Plus is a specialist day provision for learners in Key Stage 3 who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs alongside complex learning profiles. All learners have an Education, Health and Care Plan and are placed via the West Berkshire SEN Panel. The provision is underpinned by a therapeutic thinking and a trauma-informed approach following a primary model; this structure provides security and continuity, enabling learners to build trusting relationships with staff and maintain engagement. Learning opportunities are carefully designed to be engaging, relevant and inclusive but, through careful modelling and scaffolding, anxiety is reduced, self-regulation is maintained and progress is tangible.
